To be honest, it is not really the latest news regarding EVN community in general, at least for me.

However, I will not deny about the lack of creativity and innovation as a whole...

I think there's a growing rift between people who make VNs, and people who discuss making VNs. The groups that make the most progress are the ones who work in secret, rarely (if ever) bothering to spend time discussing the making of. There are a lot of people hard at work at some impressive stuff right now, but they never talk about it because they're busy creating. Underneath all the noise, the creation scene is still strong. It's just that now, the community has split between the silent creators and the people who like talking about creating. It's like people who discuss making movies versus people who actually make movies.

@F.I.A. - I used to update my blog daily, often with nothing more than a word count of how much I wrote. For me, the point was to force myself to do a significant amount of work each day. The daily blog posts kept me accountable. These days, I've dropped the habit, largely because I'm doing so much work every day that I don't have time to blog anymore.

They aim for the moon because they are under-grounders working every day with the drills. Break the impossible, dood...

=================================================

Back on topic, I will not note down socializing as a bad thing in general. Having connections can help in knowing more people/knowledge. However, I believe they are not making significant connections.

The quote "Less talk, more work" is hardly followed, since it is definitely easier to tell what their "projects" are capable of instead of working on them.

Then comes one of my gripes, where people just go and blog everything about their vns down to every minor detail of an update. Do we really need to know how many words you typed yesterday, or do we need to know that your was burst thus no further development? And then there are those that decided to post up wall-of-texts of their "hardwork" just to spoil anyone who read said blog. Of course, this might just be an in-thing nowadays, with instant blogging like twitter and whatnot.

@ 473: "Don't bite more than you can chew." is what most need to learn to do. Setting up aims are all good as long as it is within one's capability.
